Hello, I'm Greg Sharpes, founder of GSC Custom Builders. I am a third generation tradesman and have been a general contractor for 15 years. I learned my trade in the Northern Neck of Virginia, from old-time craftsmen who taught me a great deal about quality in construction. Some of the things I've learned are;

  1. Pay attention to detail. It's not how fast you can do it, it's how well you can.

  2. Use quality building material. This is not as easy as it seems.  The lack of quality control in manufacturing is rampant. Lumber is full of knots, holes, twists and isn't even dimensional anymore. Most caulking fails, some as soon as 6 months after installation. Windows aren't square. Doors leak. The list goes on and on. 

  3. Make the customer happy. A good reputation is much better than a ton of money.

We keep these things in mind with everything we do at GSC Custom.
